Here's a forensically detailed review of the film ... now available to buy on DVD from Soda pictures here.

Great to see so many familiar faces at the screening the other week in Haverhill, quite an unusual site for the box office staff! Lots of you who couldn't come have been emailing us about where you can see the film. The next cinema screening will be in London late summer, but before then you can watch it in the comfort of your own home on DVD - available from Soda Pictures.
Also there was an interesting 'point of view' by Lisa Jardine on the radio 4 last week that featured Kentwell, you can find the related article here.

Two exciting updates - On July 1st at 7.30pm there will be a special screening at the Haverhill Arts Centre cinema to coincide with this years main event at Kentwell. All Kentwell staff & re-enactors will enjoy a discount ticket price of £3.00. Come along & see yourself on the big screen! Karen & I will be there for a Q&A and to catch up with everyone.
If you live in London sadly you will have to wait until August to see the film in the cinema ... if you can't wait for the big screen experience you can order the DVD, available from July 30th from Soda Pictures here in the UK.

There's no stopping Living with the Tudors now ... our costumes from SXSW have yet to clear customs & arrive back in the UK & we're announcing our next screening. Sadly we won't be there to see this one, which is a shame as the historic cinema looks amazing ... still if you're near Sarasota book now!
Wednesday April 9th 6.00pm or Friday April 11th 6.00pm
Both at the Historic Asolo Theatre
You might even get one of our new 'Limning Badges' ... as they predictably arrived too late for our big fat SXSW Tudor party!

Look at the size of them ... Karen actually looks like a Limning next to him!

Hope you enjoy our trailer for the new documentary feature 'Living with the Tudors' and a range of film extras!

"Living with the Tudors" is premiering at the great BritDoc Festival in Oxford this week.
Karen & I are very excited to see what a 'non-tudor' audience make of the film.
We do have 5 free passes for the screening which is this Friday at 10.00 at the Phoenix cinema ... if there are any Kentwell or Somewhere fans out there near oxford who'd like to come along, drop us an email and we'll put you on the list.

I was in the bakhus again, this time with Adam, Sarah, Diccon and Matkin.
We had a few laughs, Sarah poured too much water into the dough mix me and Mat were doing so it was all wet and stodgy - we managed to fix it with adding more flour though! Sarah was making a ...
Good Friday
Started off the day not knowing much, but soon picked up a few useful bits – how much yeast to put in the alebalm and what Holy manchets are actually for (hanging in your cott to bring luck for a year!) Unfortunately there isn’t much flour – they ...
At last ... we think the film is finally finished ... and we start to live back in 2007 again! As we are finishing production the Kentwell year is just restarting, I browse on the newsgroup and see we have already missed the first open day. This summer we won't be living as Tudors - it would just be too much after spending almost every day 'at Kentwell' right through the winter. Karen will be able to spend a summer in her garden for the first time in 4 years and I might even go on holiday ...
We are, however, nervously looking forward to seeing our Kentwell friends at the cast and crew screening, being organised as I type ... watch your contemporary in-box for news.

A few weeks ago - just before the last week of editing 'Living with the Tudors' the movie - I had a very lucid dream about one of our main film characters, Danny the page:
I was in residence in my childhood home (though my present self in the dream) and seemed to be cooking Danny the most delectable fried breakfast imaginable - bacon, eggs, toast etc. - all served up to him as he sat, pleased as punch, under a patio umbrella on the lawn outside in the back garden!
Mr Freud (or your Tudor equivalent) please step up.
